Body transformations are great to see online and in the media, they show what can be achieved in a relatively short period of time.
Do you want to know a secret?
The ‘12 week transformations’ you see online are just that.
The individual will look like they do in the ‘after’ photo for a few days and slowly put weight/body fat back on over the following days/weeks.
Why?
Because the diets, training and excessive cardio that it took to get to that point are not sustainable, nor are they healthy.
I have spent time around some of the top trainers in the UK and further afield, and their methods are not magic.
The shredding diets generally consist of very low calories, basic meals (meat/fish and greens) and lots of cardio.
Does this mean you have to go to these lengths to change your physical appearance?
No.
But don’t expect for drastic changes to happen in short amounts of time if you have consistently lived a less active lifestyle for X amount of years.
This s*** takes time. Longer than you think, and longer than you want it to take.
Your health is much more important than what the scales say. You won’t look back at photos in 30 years time and wish you weight X amount, you’ll be glad for your health and happiness.
Make exercise and healthier eating part of your routine and you will surprise yourself where you can be in one, two, five, ten years time!
I will say that if you want to make it happen quicker, it can be done, but you have to ask yourself what are you really willing to do and sacrifice to achieve it, and most importantly - why?
The clients I work with who are relentless in executing the basics daily are the ones who make the biggest physical changes. That level of commitment and discipline is not for everyone, but is most definitely doable.
