One Row Live It Fundraiser Recap

This past Saturday (18th April) we ran an fundraiser for our member Louis and his sister, Giorgia, raising funds towards their 'One Row Live It' campaign.
The Cause
Their challenge is to complete the World's Toughest Row - rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, and raising money for 4 amazing charities close to them.
To comprehend the scale of the challenge, they will be alternating the rowing 2 hours on, 2 hours off, for upto 65 days, battling waves of up to 40 feet!
One Row Live It must raise upwards of £100,000, which upon completing, all proceeds will be donated to the charities.
Fundraiser Recap
I'm still coming down from what was such a fun and fulfilling event!
We ran 4 training session across the morning, each with a different focus - and had current, past and non-members pushing themselves through each session!
Jack and Emma at Tailgate Coffee provided the fuel to keep everyone going, and we also had Diane at Parker's Real Bread selling her amazing bakes.
There was also a raffle which raised £250 and a free rowing competition.
Attendance was amazing, with family and friends dropping in to hang out and show support.
Louis even brought the boat down for everyone to see, and surprised me with an SP sticker that was placed toward the front of the bow.
Events like these are the ones to remember...
Everyone coming together to support one of our own, and it's definitely needed!
We proudly raised over £1,000 through this event!
Although that may seem like a 'drop in the ocean' to the overall target, it's served as a stepping stone to push on the campaign to a wider audience of potential sponsors.
