What does 'Strength Positive' mean?

When I started in this industry, I had no idea that I would end up where I am right now.

I started out in a small leisure club, instructing classes, taking gym inductions and eventually I began personal training clients 1-1 from the club in my own time.

From there I knew that I wanted to help as many people as possible to improve their lifestyles not only physically, but to mentally gain more confidence in themselves.

Free time was spent reading articles on programming and books on mindset, watching videos on exercise technique, attending seminars in areas I was interested in…

As my knowledge increased and thus practical application of it, so did my client base.

The next step for me was seeking a mentor to help me build the systems to help clients continually progress - which was the beginning of forging my own path in the industry.

I spent six months on Mick Blythe’s mentorship programme, a local coach who I had looked up to for some time - but never formally met beforehand.

During this time I not only developed as a better coach, but it opened my mind to going it on my own - setting up my own facility.

Within two months of deciding that’s what I wanted to do, I had a 290sq.ft space secured, the equipment was purchased and moved in. The first week I started with one client.

After 14 months I took another big jump and scaled up to a fully equipped, professional 1,000sq.ft facility in a central location - and currently i’m helping over 30 individuals improve their health, fitness and well-being every week.

May 2017 - August 2018. Just a little more room, ey!

So how did I come up with the name ‘Strength Positive’?

Well, I didn’t want my name on the door, because I always envisioned this to be much bigger than just me. It’s each member that makes this place what it is, this community that is slowly growing.

‘Strength’, not only because the actual training is strength-based, but I want to help build strong mentalities as well as bodies.

‘Positive’, because I want it to be an environment where anyone can feel comfortable and be themselves without worrying what others think.

If there is ever a place that you want to go to not only improve your health and well-being, but to make great friends and have fun along the way - our door is open to you.
